There is no doubt that the Covid-19 pandemic and forced confinement have posed many challenges to us as a society.

In view of the situation, at DyCare we accelerated the launch of our digital platform ReHub and were able to respond to the need to not stop rehabilitation processes. At the same time, many post-covid patients had to face a new challenge: recovery. And here too, we have been able to contribute our grain of sand by offering personalized telerehabilitation programs.

We share three powerful testimonials that have used ReHub in their rehabilitation treatments. Their experiences show us that telerehabilitation is here to stay.

Begoña experience: a 73 years old survivor of Covid-19

María Begoña Tellería Soria was hospitalized for pneumonia and Coronavirus for 4 weeks at the Hospital Infanta Elena, in Valdemoro, Community of Madrid. She spent 15 days in the ICU and 14 on the ward. When she came out, she was very happy to have survived the Covid, as the situation was very delicate and she was in a serious condition for a few days. The dedication of the health personnel and the treatment she received were fundamental in getting her body to respond to the treatment and little by little she managed to survive.

Her testimony has impacted us: Nobody tells you that you need therapy and you must make a great effort to recover!”

When she returned home, she saw how her motor functions were strongly reduced, especially her lower extremities, she could not walk normally, her legs were failing and her ankle support was failing to walk. She also had difficulty breathing and was very tired, noticing complications in her lungs.

Why did you start using ReHub?

I knew I would need rehabilitation and met a specialist who advised me to use ReHub; through him, I contacted DyCare and started my telerehabilitation. I followed the treatment for 3 months and all the indications they gave me, since the ReHub program is interactive, the program is personalized, and allows a lot of autonomy. With this digital platform, I was able to recover autonomously from home, without having to travel, and with the peace of mind that my practitioner could supervise me remotely. He answered my questions and doubts, clarifying and explaining to me both the way and the manner how to do the exercises every day. Also, the sequence and frequency could be adapted to the different situations that I had, especially the breathing exercises.

How ReHub helps you to complete the treatment and not drop out?

As I said, after 3 months of treatment with ReHub I can say that it helped me a lot. On one hand, it allowed me to make a routine to plan and achieve compliance with the established treatment, to be persistent, and make the effort, especially during the first days when it costs more. Likewise, I consider it mainly important to do the therapy correctly, there are always doubts and the fact that they can guide you is fundamental.

Being able to do rehabilitation treatment with ReHub has been fundamental in my recovery, it is motivating support and has been essential."

It has motivated me and this is the most important factor. Sometimes finding the willpower to do the exercises when you feel so tired is not easy! I have requested to be permitted to continue with the therapy in order to improve and maintain myself since the sequels of the Covid-19 do not end, inflammations, muscle contractions, cramps continue to appear… I feel better if I continue the contact with my practitioner, he made me feel safe and calm!

Maria Vila experience: telerehabilitation after knee arthroplasty surgery

In July of this year and after a knee arthroplasty operation at the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona, Maria Vila Cirera started using ReHub at home, thanks to the preparation of the nurse and the practitioner responsible for the treatment. In the middle of her rehabilitation she tested positive for Coronavirus and, although she lacked the strength to continue at the level she was at, she kept trying to maintain the therapy: “I have made great progress, I am very happy,” she confesses.

Is ReHub easy to use?

I find ReHub affordable, I have not found it difficult. Even for an older person, who might find it difficult, if you explain, show, and tell him what he or she has to do, there is no problem.

“I have felt safe and controlled by the doctor and the team behind ReHub."

Would you recommend ReHub for digital rehabilitation?

Yes, mainly because physiotherapists can adapt the exercises to the needs of each person. Having the digital solution at home, I can perform the treatment comfortably. When I started, I did it four times a day. After overcoming the Covid I have been using it and it has helped me with rehabilitation.

Sandra's experience: recovery after postural injury of the right shoulder

Sandra had a postural injury of the right shoulder due to her office job and her sport, paddle tennis. She has bursitis, tendon damage, and reduced subacromial space. She has been undergoing rehabilitation treatment with the Vital&Clínic and the ReHub digital platform for approximately one and a half months.

Have you noticed progress during the digital therapy treatment?

I am happy with the progress. I didn’t know about the treatment, it was offered to me here at the clinic and the truth is that it is quite useful: apart from being an innovative system, it is very comfortable because it marks your daily obligation and creates your routines, which probably if you didn’t have them you would fail to do the exercises one day.

Did you think telerehabilitation is helpful?

The truth is that no, it was a surprise. Besides, it is very well focused since you avoid having to come to the clinic every day to rehabilitate, you do go, but logically it is much less. With ReHub you do your daily exercises and I think the results are better. Surely if you had to come to the clinic every day you would fail someday and so I definitely do them at home.

Could you give us an example of your daily routine?

My physiotherapist assigns me a series of exercises through the ReHub platform. There are approximately 4 or 5 that you do daily and if you don’t do them, he will notify you the next day. Your physical therapist talks to you through a chat that is very good because you can consult all you want; he responds online and you really feel like you’re in the clinic physically.

“I would recommend the ReHub telerehabilitation platform without any doubt!”
